How-To Use E-Cigarettes & Start Vaping!

The first step in using an e-cigarette is charging the battery. It is typically recommended that you charge the battery for at least six hours prior to the initial use of your new ecig to ensure the battery is at full capacity. However, a normal charge usually only takes from two to four hours to fully charge. It is not advised that you leave the batter on the charger after the green ready light come on indicating a full charge.

Once the battery for your electronic cigarette is charged, it is ready for use. In most cases, assembling your device will be the same regardless of the model that you use. Start by screwing together the battery and the atomizer. Then, the protective cap is removed from the cartridge, which is then attached to your atomizer. If the ecig you have uses a cartridge that is pre-filled, it is now ready to use.

Automatic Operation

Most of the older style electronic cigarette models that resemble a real cigarette will work automatically. As you draw on the mouthpiece to activate the atomizer, the eLiquid is heated and drawn out of the cartridge. The vaporized eLiquid can then be inhaled.

There is no need to switch on an e-cigarette, as it is always in standby mode if the battery is attached to it. In addition, the use of an electronic cigarette is very similar to that of a traditional tobacco cigarette. If you are not satisfied with the amount of vapor that you received, try the drip method by dripping 1-2 drops direct onto the atomizer. This is called priming your atomizer.

Depending on the model of e-cigarette that you are using, the device may shut off after a five to ten second drag. This safety feature will prevent overheating of the atomizer. Do not ever blow into your ecig because it can push the eLiquid into the batter which will cause damage to it.

Manual Operation

Some electronic cigarettes are manually operated. As opposed to simply puffing on the mouthpiece, you will push a button on the side of the device that will activate the atomizer. With this type of ecig, there is no need for a primer puff. Simply begin by pressing on the switch briefly prior to taking a drag. Stop pressing just before your drag ends.

Many e-cigarette users feel that a manually ecigs provide the best results as far as vapor production and throat hit. However, it is actually just a matter of which one you prefer.

Be careful not to hold the button down for an extended amount of time. By doing this, you can cause the atomizer to overheat. A good rule of thumb is to keep your drags to around five to seven seconds and then take a quick break. If you notice that the atomizer is heating up significantly, then you will need to take a longer break between drags.

The throat hit that you get from your electronic cigarette will depend on a number of different factors. A poor battery will have an immediate effect on the strength of the throat hit and the amount of vapor produced. The amount of nicotine present in the eLiquid that you use will also make for a stronger throat hit. The eLiquid and the exact ecig model will also have an effect on the outcome of your vaping experience.
